Ind. Addiction Doctors File Lawsuit Against DEA After Clinic Shut Down

Four Indiana addiction doctors are suing the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the city of Carmel, Indiana for allegedly violating their right to due process and false arrest. In July 2014, even after being told twice by the U.S. attorney’s office that they didn’t have a case against the doctor’s addiction clinics, members of a local anti-drug task force backed by DEA agents arrested one of the doctors and 11 of his employees for providing suboxone prescriptions to undercover officers who had no legitimate medical need for them.
