U.S. Senators Demand Information from Naloxone Manufacturer After Large Price Increase

On Wednesday, over 30 US Senators sent a letter to a pharmaceutical company that reportedly raised the price of an opioid overdose reversal drug – a naloxone auto-injector – by nearly $4,000. The senators stated concern that the price increase would potentially limit access for those who do not qualify for discount programs and for state and local entities that want to purchase large amounts of the drug for their communities. The lawmakers also made several requests for information in the letter, including the company’s reasons for the price increase. Read more about this story here and find the Senators’ letter here.
